Join us on this monthly program where we have a local presenter speak about an interesting topic or history followed by a full pizza lunch.  All presentations occur on a Monday once a month followed by lunch consisting of one piece of pizza, tossed salad, fruit and drink.  The fee collected is put towards our presenter fees, while a suggested contributions of $3.50 towards lunch can be accepted on the day of the lunch. Mon - February 10: Dave Crumb, Village of Hilton Historian - It's time to learn about Hilton & Parma History.  We have a basket of questions to choose from upon arrival - plan to become educated about our village and town!Mon - March 10: Summit FCU Empowering Seniors Against Fraud -   Just when you think you learned everything about fraud - it's never ending!  Fraud and identity theft targeting senior citizens is an increasingly widespread occurrence. This seminar will discuss ways fraudsters reach out to and attempt to defraud and scam the elderly population within the communities The Summit serves. We will give you strategies and information on how to minimize your risk of becoming a victim. We will discuss current trends and recent examples of fraudulent activity so you can be more aware to better protect yourself and your personal information.Mon - April 7: New York State Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation - Mr Letchworth & the history of Letchworth Park - Letchworth State Park was voted #1 State Park in the nation for a reason.  Stretching for 17 miles along the dynamic Genesee River, the Park includes acre after acre of magnificent forest, spectacular scenery, and a wide variety of recreational facilities; but the Letchworth story is more than just that. William Pryor Letchworth’s vision for the development and character of Letchworth State Park is a fascinating tale of the land, a man, and his Park.Mon - May 12: Scott Hetsko Meteorologist at 13WHAM - the life and history and becoming a meteorologist.Mon - June 23: Seabreeze History - Kevin Dorey explains 146 Years of Family Fun. Join us for a nostalgic journey through time as we explore the rich history of Seabreeze Amusement Park.  From its humble beginnings in 1879 as a picnic grove at the end of the Rochester & Lake Ontario Railroad, discover how Seabreeze evolved into the beloved summer destination we know and love today.  We'll share stories and photos that will bring  back cherished memories.  Mon - July 14: Rochester, Young Lion of the West - Dan Cody will present on the Erie Canal.  2025 marks the waterway’s bicentennial, and there will be many events throughout the year to celebrate. Dan will speak on the “Young Lion of the West: The Erie Canal and its Impact on the Growth of Rochester.” Attendees will hear how the canal helped Rochester and the local area grow.Mon - August 18: Wegmans Pharmacy & Phacts with a Pharmacist - This presentation will be about all adult immunizations from flu and covid to RSV and Shingrix.  Literature on Diabetes, Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, home delivery will be available  along with some pens, pill boxes and stress balls.  The pharmacist will be available after the talk if anyone has questions.Mon - September 15: Inside The World of a CIA Visual Information Specialist -Local artist Daniel Caster presents a truly unique collection of his artwork from his days as a Visual Information Specialist at CIA.  This includes the college portfolio piece which landed him the job, a selection of unclassified images and renderings of terrorists from his time supporting Counter Terrorism Operations.  This presentation will give viewers a special glimpse into CIA's unique culture and mission.  This will be a two hour talk. Mon - October 6:  Parma Public Library - "I Didn't Know the Library Had That:" Getting to Know Your Local Library - DVDS? Audiobooks? Discount passes to local attractions? Oh my! The Parma Public Library is stuffed to the brim with amazing items and opportunities, and best of all - everything is free! Join Adult Services Librarian, Caitlin Larry, for a chat about everything that your public library can do for you. Having fun isn't hard when you've got a library card!  Mon - November 10:  Zarpentine Farms R&K and Blodgett Farms - Come learn about these two farms past, present and what is up and coming as well as learn how they are now collaborating.  Kim and Ruth will be ready to answer your questions and explain all about operations as well as have you taste a sample of cider and a baked item.Mon - December 8:  Dave Crumb, Village Historian - James A. Hard was the last Union Combat Veteran of the Civil War.  He lived in Rochester and was a Social Luminary.  He was in the papers every week for something.  Everyone knew of him especially school children.  Today he is almost forgotten.  Thanks to his Great, Great Grandson Paul Exten of Parma the Village Historian’s office has on loan his collection of photos, medals, new clips and other memorabilia.  We keep his story and service alive so he is not forgotten.  His photo is the first in the gallery of Veterans in the Community Center.  His Connection to Hilton and Parma is that he rode in many of our Fireman's Parades in the 40s and early 50s.Mon - January 12:  From Flight Deck to Senior Center - Join our very own Gene Benson in hearing about how airline flying is the safest form of public transportation.  It rose to that status primarily through the study of human behavior to learn why people make errors. The lessons learned to prevent airplane mishaps can be applied to everyday life. Understanding more about why we make errors can help us to avoid many of the common causes of injury and other unfortunate occurrences.  This informative and entertaining program is created especially for seniors.  Retired professional pilot and error reduction specialist Gene Benson shows an overview of the lessons learned in aviation during his fifty-year flying career and how he applies them now to life as a senior citizen.The program is light hearted with plenty of graphics and real-world examples in a PowerPoint presentation. ** No eligible person shall be denied benefits or subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving any Federal, State, or County funding. Sit, Serve, and Have a Ball!  Looking for a fun way to stay active, socialize, and share a few laughs?  Join us for Chair Volleyball, a seated spin on a classic favorite!  This exciting, low-impact game is played with a beach ball and plenty of enthusiasm, making it perfect for all mobility levels.Improve your hand-eye coordination, boost your energy, and enjoy friendly competition without ever leaving your chair.  It’s not about winning — it’s about moving, laughing, and connecting with others.  No experience necessary and learn while you play. This first session for Mondays and Thursdays is a pilot program to start out to see where the most demand is.  Days of the week will potentially change after Labor Day. Signing up for a session does not require attendance every week, but alleviates weekly sign-ups and liability waivers. We are looking for individuals who would be willing to possibly set-up the net weekly and someone who could keep score - please inquire.

Chair Yoga Stretch, Strength and Balance is a safe and fun way to incorporate yoga practices using both seated and optional standing postures.  It gives you the same benefits of traditional yoga, while providing additional support and stability from the chair.  A foundational, therapeutic practice that promotes balance, strength and flexibility.  We will incorporate breath and posture awareness along with relaxation techniques. We will use props such as tennis balls, yoga blocks and straps for added strength, range of motion and balance. No need to bring a yoga mat, but if you want your own tennis ball, please bring one. Other props will be provided.  Join us for a fun and safe practice for everyone! Sit, Serve, and Have a Ball!  Looking for a fun way to stay active, socialize, and share a few laughs?  Join us for Chair Volleyball, a seated spin on a classic favorite!  This exciting, low-impact game is played with a beach ball and plenty of enthusiasm, making it perfect for all mobility levels.Improve your hand-eye coordination, boost your energy, and enjoy friendly competition without ever leaving your chair.  It’s not about winning — it’s about moving, laughing, and connecting with others.  No experience necessary and learn while you play. This first session for Mondays and Thursdays is a pilot program to start out to see where the most demand is.  Days of the week will potentially change after Labor Day. Signing up for a session does not require attendance every week, but alleviates weekly sign-ups and liability waivers. We are looking for individuals who would be willing to possibly set-up the net weekly and someone who could keep score - please inquire.

Vinyasa yoga is a light-intensity cardiovascular workout. It is a great way to build strength, flexibility, and mindfulness. All levels, including beginners, are welcome! About your instructor: Amanda is a 200 HR RYT with Yoga Alliance. She is a  National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Nutrition Coach.

Chair Yoga Stretch, Strength and Balance is a safe and fun way to incorporate yoga practices using both seated and optional standing postures.  It gives you the same benefits of traditional yoga, while providing additional support and stability from the chair.  A foundational, therapeutic practice that promotes balance, strength and flexibility.  We will incorporate breath and posture awareness along with relaxation techniques. We will use props such as tennis balls, yoga blocks and straps for added strength, range of motion and balance. No need to bring a yoga mat, but if you want your own tennis ball, please bring one. Other props will be provided.  Join us for a fun and safe practice for everyone! Join us on this monthly program where we have a local presenter speak about an interesting topic or history followed by a full pizza lunch.  All presentations occur on a Monday once a month followed by lunch consisting of one piece of pizza, tossed salad, fruit and drink.  The fee collected is put towards our presenter fees, while a suggested contributions of $3.50 towards lunch can be accepted on the day of the lunch. Mon - February 10: Dave Crumb, Village of Hilton Historian - It's time to learn about Hilton & Parma History.  We have a basket of questions to choose from upon arrival - plan to become educated about our village and town!Mon - March 10: Summit FCU Empowering Seniors Against Fraud -   Just when you think you learned everything about fraud - it's never ending!  Fraud and identity theft targeting senior citizens is an increasingly widespread occurrence. This seminar will discuss ways fraudsters reach out to and attempt to defraud and scam the elderly population within the communities The Summit serves. We will give you strategies and information on how to minimize your risk of becoming a victim. Join us for a nostalgic journey through time as we explore the rich history of Seabreeze Amusement Park.  From its humble beginnings in 1879 as a picnic grove at the end of the Rochester & Lake Ontario Railroad, discover how Seabreeze evolved into the beloved summer destination we know and love today.  We'll share stories and photos that will bring  back cherished memories.  Mon - July 14: Rochester, Young Lion of the West - Dan Cody will present on the Erie Canal.  2025 marks the waterway’s bicentennial, and there will be many events throughout the year to celebrate. Dan will speak on the “Young Lion of the West: The Erie Canal and its Impact on the Growth of Rochester.” Attendees will hear how the canal helped Rochester and the local area grow.Mon - August 18: Wegmans Pharmacy & Phacts with a Pharmacist - This presentation will be about all adult immunizations from flu and covid to RSV and Shingrix.  Literature on Diabetes, Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, home delivery will be available  along with some pens, pill boxes and stress balls.  The pharmacist will be available after the talk if anyone has questions.Mon - September 15: Inside The World of a CIA Visual Information Specialist -Local artist Daniel Caster presents a truly unique collection of his artwork from his days as a Visual Information Specialist at CIA.  This includes the college portfolio piece which landed him the job, a selection of unclassified images and renderings of terrorists from his time supporting Counter Terrorism Operations.  This presentation will give viewers a special glimpse into CIA's unique culture and mission.  This will be a two hour talk. Mon - October 6:  Parma Public Library - "I Didn't Know the Library Had That:" Getting to Know Your Local Library - DVDS? Audiobooks? Discount passes to local attractions? Oh my! The Parma Public Library is stuffed to the brim with amazing items and opportunities, and best of all - everything is free! Having fun isn't hard when you've got a library card!  Mon - November 10:  Zarpentine Farms R&K and Blodgett Farms - Come learn about these two farms past, present and what is up and coming as well as learn how they are now collaborating.  Kim and Ruth will be ready to answer your questions and explain all about operations as well as have you taste a sample of cider and a baked item.Mon - December 8:  Dave Crumb, Village Historian - James A. Hard was the last Union Combat Veteran of the Civil War.  He lived in Rochester and was a Social Luminary.  He was in the papers every week for something.  Everyone knew of him especially school children.  Today he is almost forgotten.  Thanks to his Great, Great Grandson Paul Exten of Parma the Village Historian’s office has on loan his collection of photos, medals, new clips and other memorabilia.  We keep his story and service alive so he is not forgotten.  His photo is the first in the gallery of Veterans in the Community Center.  His Connection to Hilton and Parma is that he rode in many of our Fireman's Parades in the 40s and early 50s.Mon - January 12:  From Flight Deck to Senior Center - Join our very own Gene Benson in hearing about how airline flying is the safest form of public transportation.  It rose to that status primarily through the study of human behavior to learn why people make errors. The lessons learned to prevent airplane mishaps can be applied to everyday life. Understanding more about why we make errors can help us to avoid many of the common causes of injury and other unfortunate occurrences.  This informative and entertaining program is created especially for seniors.  Retired professional pilot and error reduction specialist Gene Benson shows an overview of the lessons learned in aviation during his fifty-year flying career and how he applies them now to life as a senior citizen.The program is light hearted with plenty of graphics and real-world examples in a PowerPoint presentation. ** No eligible person shall be denied benefits or subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving any Federal, State, or County funding. Sit, Serve, and Have a Ball!  Looking for a fun way to stay active, socialize, and share a few laughs?  Join us for Chair Volleyball, a seated spin on a classic favorite!  This exciting, low-impact game is played with a beach ball and plenty of enthusiasm, making it perfect for all mobility levels.Improve your hand-eye coordination, boost your energy, and enjoy friendly competition without ever leaving your chair.  It’s not about winning — it’s about moving, laughing, and connecting with others.  No experience necessary and learn while you play. This first session for Mondays and Thursdays is a pilot program to start out to see where the most demand is.  Days of the week will potentially change after Labor Day. Signing up for a session does not require attendance every week, but alleviates weekly sign-ups and liability waivers. We are looking for individuals who would be willing to possibly set-up the net weekly and someone who could keep score - please inquire.

Join us for fun instructional line dance classes that are open to all levels! Country and other styles of music will be played. It doesn’t matter if you have been dancing for a long time or are a beginner, this will be a fun dance class for all.David Interlicchia is an Instructor/Director at Dance Biz and instructs all styles of dance. He has been teaching line dance in the Rochester area for over 30 years. A minimum of 10 is needed.
