Then it's time to lace up your hiking boots and join our Backpacking Essentials Workshop - a one-day immersive journey into the world of adventure backpacking!

No prior experience needed! Whether you're a seasoned hiker hungry for multi-day treks or a curious newbie yearning for your first wilderness taste, this workshop is your launchpad to unforgettable outdoor escapades.

This program is hosted by NYS Licensed Wilderness Guide, Rob Dickerson and his staff.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
  • Gear Up Like a Pro: Master the art of choosing the right backpack, tent, sleeping bag, and more. Learn to prioritize comfort, functionality, and weight-saving hacks for a trek that feels as good as it looks.
  • Navigation Ninjas: Unleash your inner map-reading whiz! We'll conquer compasses, decipher topographical maps, and introduce you to GPS navigation basics. No more getting lost in the beauty of it all!
  • Foodie for the Trails: Backpacking isn't about living on granola bars (unless you want to!). Discover creative, delicious, and lightweight meal prep secrets to fuel your adventures with fresh, flavorful goodness.
  • Leave No Trace Champions: Learn how to tread lightly and respectfully in nature. We'll cover campsite etiquette, waste disposal, and minimizing your impact on the wilderness you love.
  • Bonus! Fire-starting demo, first-aid essentials, and expert tips from seasoned backpackers.
